Reflection Blog Post

I really enjoyed this class. My favorite project this semester was the logo design one. I really like logos and little additional meanings they have. In addition, I liked how easy the program was and I really liked making my logo. I also liked using the adobe illustrator program out of all of them, so it helped that the logo project used that program. The skills that I learned in this class is how to use many of adobes programs. In addition to learning about design and video production in the communication field. In the future, I want to be in advertising and promoting for sports teams. I think this class helps with knowing some of the programs that I could potentially be used in those fields. I can use the photoshop and illustrator program I think the most in those fields. I think that I will be making a lot of logos and designs while also editing images the company wants to share on a magazine or website. In addition, this class helped me understand how to be creative with sketching and editing along the way. Also, how the first draft isn’t always the best and how multiple help with the final draft. I wish I learned how to use the 3-D parts of the program and understand backlighting on animation better. In addition, I wish I could have used more of the effects and edits that each program included. I found that using Adobe programs, YouTube, and SoundCloud were easier to use then I imagined. I did have some rough patches during the tutorials but once I figured it out it became easier to maneuver. Also, the places to find music and photos were helpful when doing the audio, video, and the visual projects. I really enjoyed this class and thought it was helpful while in the communication college and in my career.

Video Story Final Draft

For this project I decided to make a tutorial like video on baking and cooking. I thought that making a tutorial video would be the best way to show my course topic since baking could also be simple and easy. I’ve watched many cooking and baking videos to get some inspiration for this project. In addition, cooking and baking videos are popular right now, so I thought why not make a video about how to make crepes. There are so many styles and ways to film and make a tutorial cooking video. I decided to show all cooking and no person. I decided to do this because I wanted to make the focus of the video on the crepes not on anything else. When thinking of what I wanted to make I thought of something simple and quick, so I would be able to show all the steps from start to finish of how to make crepes. While making the crepes, I filmed along the way to I was able to show each step of cooking the crepes. After all the videos were filmed I add them to premiere and picked and chose the videos I wanted to use for the project. I then recorded my-self explaining each step along the way. I was able to edit the pauses and repeating words, so it flowed easy. In addition, I added music under some of the audio and between audio clips. I added this because I did not want to have awkward pauses throughout the video. I added transition fades between the clips of audio and music.  Lastly, I added title in the beginning and the end to explain what the video was about and the credits at the end. With the title and video, I added some visual effects

To get all the elements in my project I filmed each thing while making the crepes. I used a lot of the cutting and placing tools while in adobe premiere, so I didn’t make the videos too long or too short. It was hard placing the video with the audio. I was able to adjust and edit the audio clips, so they flow better.
